    Description

    As an Engineering Technician on our team, you’ll be a key player in making sure our advanced aerospace electronics meet the highest standards before they ever leave the building. Your day-to-day work directly contributes to solving problems and ensuring product quality across multiple programs.

    What You'll Do

    As an Engineering Technician, you'll play an important role in day-to-day operations across various product lines, helping minimize downtime and keep shipments on schedule. You'll work closely with technical and manufacturing teams, primarily troubleshooting electronic products that don't pass acceptance testing requirements.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Using schematics and other design documentation to troubleshoot electronic circuits
    • Performing detailed visual inspections for:
      • General workmanship and solder acceptability per IPC-610
      • Component locations and orientations
      • Proper wiring
    • Setting up and executing acceptance tests to duplicate identified problems
    • Taking electrical measurements and analyzing results
    • Determining root cause of failures
    • Reviewing findings with manufacturing and engineering teams
    • Documenting steps taken and findings using Excel or database systems

    What We're Looking For

    We're open to candidates who meet the qualifications under either of the following options:

    Option 1: Advanced Electronic Troubleshooting

    • Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and circuits
    • Familiarity with common electronic components (transistors, capacitors, resistors, inductors, diodes, regulators, op-amps) and how to test them
    • Proficiency with electronic test and measurement equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers)
    • Minimum 3 years of experience troubleshooting electronic circuits

     

    Option 2: Prior Experience with Astronics LSI Products

    • Familiarity with LSI workorder planning and release processes, manufacturing routers
    • Working knowledge of MCR, ATP, and ATR documentation—where to locate them and how to get them updated
    • Experience with assembly and testing of LSI products
    • Experience with the Part 145 repair program
    • Minimum 5 years of employment with LSI

    Additionally, all candidates should have:

    • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • A demonstrated track record of success working in team-based environments

    Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED required; a related college degree is a plus

    • Technical degree or military training in electronics is highly desired but not required

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • Hourly pay range: $25.00 - $32.00/hour, influenced by several factors including experience, skill set, education, certifications, market conditions, and business needs.
