As an Engineering Technician at Tesla, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing assembly processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in our fast-paced Cybertruck shop. You will collaborate closely with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem-solver with a passion for innovation and sustainability. Develop, document, and train to Manufacturing Instructions for all vehicle processes (Joining, Bolting, Assembly, Dimension, Equipment) with hands-on process knowledge Support engineering activities by designing, validating, and refining processes to improve throughput and reduce waste Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to sustain and improve key metrics Diagnose and resolve equipment, tooling, and workflow issues to minimize downtime and ensure process reliability Collect, analyze, and interpret production data (cycle times, defect rates, etc.) to identify trends and implement corrective actions Lead and support Kaizen events, root cause analyses, and Lean initiatives to eliminate bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement Design, manage, and repair process tooling; coordinate equipment modifications and perform audits (Torque, Critical Parameter, Inline Measurement) 2 years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, or a related industry Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or 5S methodologies Experience with data analysis and use of tools such as Excel Advanced computer proficiency with the ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new software applications across diverse platforms Essential Physical Demands Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, clean coveralls in cleanroom, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program
