Description

Job Title: Engineering Technician
Location: Palm Bay, FL 32905
Duration: 12 Months;Temp-to-Perm possible
Pay Rate: $30.00–$34.00/hr
Shift Timings: 1st Shift –6: 00 AM
 
Job Description:
Hands-on manufacturing/engineering technician role supporting aerospace and space hardware assembly, integration, testing, and precision alignment. The technician will work with small parts, hand tools, measurement equipment, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes in a high-reliability environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and integrate space structures and deployable mesh reflectors.
  • Perform mechanical assembly and testing of space hardware.
  • Support system-level hardware integration and testing.
  • Perform system-level alignments to meet engineering requirements.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, torque tools, and inclinometers.
  • Mix and apply two-part adhesives and RTVs when required.
  • Support manufacturing process improvements and provide feedback on drawings and work instructions.
  • Perform field support for spacecraft integration and precision alignment.
  • Work safely on ladders and at elevated heights up to 30 feet.
  • Move equipment weighing up to 45 lbs.
  • Support overtime and first/second-shift requirements when needed.
 
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in assembly, testing, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Aerospace/space hardware manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical assembly experience.
  • Experience using hand, torque, and measurement tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Fine motor skills and ability to work with very small parts.
  • Ability to work in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality.
  • Must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
 
Preferred Skills:
  • 4+ years manufacturing space-qualified hardware.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance.
  • Hi-reliability, bonding, or aerial-platform certifications.
  • Micrometer/caliper experience.
  • Sewing experience.
  • Adhesive/RTV application experience.
  • Spacecraft integration, alignment, deployment, vibration testing, or similar experience.
  • Experience working with magnification/small components.
 
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training/certifications in manufacturing, aerospace, mechanical assembly, or a related field are a plus.
