Engineering Technician 3-USD

You will work closely with software and test engineers to set up, troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain test environments consisting of PCs, Raspberry Pi systems, test fixtures, BLE clients, and automation tools. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that lab infrastructure, test systems, and connected hardware remain operational and available for engineering teams executing automated and manual verification activities.

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician III to support and maintain our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test laboratory. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that lab infrastructure, test systems, and connected hardware remain operational and available for engineering teams executing automated and manual verification activities.
You will work closely with software and test engineers to set up, troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain test environments consisting of PCs, Raspberry Pi systems, test fixtures, BLE clients, and automation tools. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, working with hardware and software, and supporting critical engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support HIL test systems and laboratory infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and recover test stations, fixtures, PCs, Raspberry Pi devices, and BLE clients when systems enter unexpected or failed states.
Build, configure, and deploy new test systems, including operating system setup and software tool installation.
Support automated test execution, including overnight and long-duration test runs.
Document system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and test observations.
Assist with continuous improvement efforts to increase lab reliability, efficiency, and test throughput.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
5+ years of experience supporting laboratory, engineering, manufacturing, or technical environments.
Experience with Windows-based systems and basic Linux administration.
Familiarity with computer hardware, embedded systems, or Raspberry Pi platforms.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting automated test systems or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
