Prolim Government Technologies is hiring for a federal client, Northrop Grumman, and is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician 2 to support spacecraft assembly, integration, testing, and launch activities in Redondo Beach, California.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with spacecraft mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly and integration.
  • Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Support prototype and flight-unit assembly and testing.
  • Perform subsystem and system-level test activities.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, process specifications, and work instructions.
  • Perform precision measurements using appropriate measuring instruments.
  • Support fastener torqueing and hardware installation.
  • Perform flight connector mate/de-mate activities.
    Route, install, and terminate harnesses.
  • Perform structural and conductive epoxy spot bonding.
  • Install and remove units and boxes.
  • Install thermal components.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness, safety, and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience (If any)

  • Aerospace or spacecraft manufacturing experience
  • Cleanroom experience.
  • Precision measuring instruments.
  • Mechanical assembly and integration.
  • Engineering drawings and work instructions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and mechanical assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work extended hours and varying shifts when required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
