Job Summary: Performs engineering technician work related to developing, evaluating, implementing, monitoring, and improving manufacturing processes in assigned areas. Provides daily technical support to production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist manufacturing engineers with various production related projects.
  • Provides direct technical interface between Manufacturing Engineers and production personnel in assigned production work areas.
  • Provide technical leadership to production and non-technical staff for assigned projects.
  • Conduct specific technical tasks such as development of layouts of floor plans, documentation drafts, as assigned.
  • Provide "hands-on" support in fabrication, inspection and/or testing of various products, such as engineering prototypes.
  • Provide assistance to create, develop, document and implement and train to procedures used to manufacture, assemble and/or test products in assigned work areas.
  • Provide assistance for continuous process improvement via work instructions, tooling and equipment revisions and engineering process changes.
  • Assist in developing process flows, estimated cycle times, manpower requirements, equipment, utilities and floor space requirements, including proper development, training and transition of stable processes to production.
  • Interface with maintenance, electro-mechanical technicians and other manufacturing engineering resources to collaboratively resolve production issues.
  • Learn about new technologies and manufacturing approaches. Able to propose improvements to fabrication processes and systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have basic mathematic skills.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical part prints and electrical schematics
  • Ability to organize and implement projects.

Credentials and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of directly relevant working experience
  • Knowledge of assembly line product implementation and workflow.

Other Skills/Abilities or Special Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency and responsibility.

Computer

  • Basic level knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio, etc.) required.
  • Basic level knowledge of PC use and ability to use various software programs as required.

Physical

  • Ability to operate various manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to use various hand held measuring devices.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for up to 8 hours or more per day.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. on a limited basis.

Other

  • Have the flexibility to adjust work hours to meet manufacturing and project requirements as needed
