The Supervisor of Lighting Engineering will train, direct and superviseengineering/drafting support employees engaged in the development ofrequirements, service designs, system modifications of electric distribution,networks, streetlight systems and leased lights. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Train,direct and supervise employees within an area, responsible for selectingemployees, transfer, promote, discipline, handle grievances and othersupervisory functions. Schedule assign and coordinate the work of employees.coordinate, facilitate and communicate activities and procedures with otherareas, departments and outside parties/agencies. Plan and direct layout designfor modifications/alterations and additions of attachments to facilitate on electricdistribution, network, street lighting systems and leased lights. Review andapprove site locations, engineering designs and calculations; apply engineeringprinciples and provide engineering information, technical advice, and assistanceto engineers, designers, customers, contractors, etc. and information/instructionsto employees and resolve problems. Prepare, evaluate and verify variousreports/records such as area budget, specifications, cost estimates, permits,commencement and termination agreements, engineering policies/rules andrequirements, performance appraisals, time sheets and inventories. Monitoragreements and licensee attachment construction compliance with standardspolicies, procedures, design engineering practices and National Electric SafetyCode (NESC) guidelines. Determine when a construction change should bemade while a sketch/project is in progress; develop and issue correctivemeasures and actions. Stay abreast of Division policies and up-to-date industrytrends and technical developments, requirements and procedures related toattachments to Division’s electrical distribution facilities, street lighting systemsand leased lights. Operate Division vehicle and computer applications softwareand office hardware. Perform other duties as assigned and or directed
