About the Role
Everforth Apex, in partnership with a premier financial services client, seeks an experienced Engineering Sr Consultant to join the Life & Annuity Systems Technology team. This is a high-impact opportunity for a results-driven application developer to lead modernization projects and mentor peers within a collaborative, agile environment. You will leverage a diverse technology stack to support, optimize, and innovate mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of business application support, ensuring reliable operations through prompt resolution of complex production issues.
- Lead modernization initiatives including application rationalization and AWS migration to enhance system performance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Life and Annuity business processes, shaping technical direction and strategy.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align on goals and promote collaboration.
- Execute end-to-end project delivery-analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation.
- Drive continuous improvement by encouraging innovation, adopting a proactive test-and-learn approach.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to fellow developers, fostering team growth.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years professional experience in application development (ideally 8+ years).
- Advanced Java development skills, with hands-on expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch.
- Proficient in REST and SOAP APIs, SQL Server, and batch job design.
- Demonstrated experience in data validation, mocking, and unit/integration testing.
- Excellent communication skills; proven ability to mentor and lead within teams.
- Robust problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in large-scale data ingestion/transfer system design and analysis.
- Familiarity with OATH, Kong API Gateway, Python, Groovy, ANT.
- Previous experience in financial services technology environments.
