Engineering Shop Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Shop Technician to join our dynamic team at Mann+Hummel. As an Engineering Shop Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and manufacturing processes by providing technical assistance, operating machinery, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our engineering shop.
Main Tasks
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Shop Technician to join our dynamic team at Mann+Hummel. As an Engineering Shop Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and manufacturing processes by providing technical assistance, operating machinery, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our engineering shop.
- Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment in the engineering shop
- Follow technical specifications and blueprints to ensure accurate production
- Assist engineers in the development of prototypes and experimental projects
- Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and refine prototypes
- Perform routine maintenance on shop tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality
- Report any malfunctioning equipment and coordinate repairs as needed
- Manage and organize materials and components in the shop
- Track inventory levels and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need replenishment
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
- Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly
- Keep detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and shop activities
- Document any changes made to prototypes or machinery
- Report prototype orders
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in engineering or a related field is a plus
- 3-5 years' experience as Manufacturing Assembly Technician or a shop technician or similar role in a production environment
Required Skills:
- Proficient in operating and maintaining a variety of assembly tools and machinery
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, the ability to read technical drawings, and measurement skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Proven ability to work with various software applications: Word processing and spreadsheet programs (MS Office)
- Proven work experience as a Manufacturing Assembly Technician or a similar role
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with filtration products
- Experience in prototyping is a plus
- Proficiency in CNC machining parts
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software
