Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Engineering Project Manager to support software and firmware update initiatives within a hardware development environment. This role will focus on driving the resolution of the SW/FW RCO backlog, improving processes for managing software and firmware updates, ensuring SLA compliance, and supporting New Product Development escalations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
hardware development program management, experience coordinating software and firmware-related activities, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to resolve issues and meet critical project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the burn-down and resolution of the Software (SW) and Firmware (FW) update RCO backlog.
- Partner with key stakeholders to define and implement a more effective process for managing SW/FW updates.
- Help drive process improvements while working within current Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system capabilities.
- Monitor RCO activity and drive compliance with established SLA requirements.
- Support non-build New Product Development (NPD) escalations and coordinate timely resolution of outstanding issues.
- Establish and lead cross-functional task forces to address project challenges and remove roadblocks.
- Coordinate with engineering, program management, manufacturing, operations, and other stakeholders.
- Track project status, priorities, risks, action items, and deliverables.
- Communicate project updates and escalate critical issues to appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project trackers, reports, presentations, and supporting documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Program Manager, Project Manager, or similar role within hardware development.
- Experience supporting software and/or firmware updates within a hardware development environment preferred.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes and systems is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of cross-functional engineering and New Product Development processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and lead cross-functional task forces.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects through completion.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
Position Details
This is a
temp-to-hire opportunity based in
Fremont, CA. The position requires working
on-site five days per week. The hiring manager will review submitted resumes and select qualified candidates to move forward with interviews.
