Oxford Solutions is working with a client to hire an Engineering Project Manager to lead complex new product development programs from concept through commercialization. This is a direct-hire, onsite opportunity with a global organization developing advanced inspection, automation, and process-control technologies.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who has moved into project leadership and enjoys coordinating multidisciplinary teams while staying closely connected to the technical work.
Responsibilities
- Lead new product development programs from initial concept through product launch.
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and related disciplines.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, milestones, and risk registers.
- Drive project execution while balancing technical performance, cost, quality, and schedule.
- Support development involving technologies such as machine vision, industrial automation, robotics, AI/data analytics, IoT/Industry 4.0, and precision measurement.
- Identify project risks, remove roadblocks, and communicate progress to technical and business stakeholders.
- Coordinate customer visits, beta deployments, supplier activities, and other project-related field work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Software, Computer or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong technical engineering background with experience developing complex electromechanical products or systems.
- Experience leading engineering projects through the full product development lifecycle, from concept through commercialization.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage competing technical, schedule, cost, and quality priorities.
- Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar technical leadership role is highly valued.
- Strong project planning, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel 5-10% of the time per year for customer visits, test deployments, supplier meetings, and international trade shows.
