    Position Summary

    The Engineering Pathway Coordinator serves as the primary recruitment, enrollment, and student success professional for Southeast Missouri State Universitys engineering partnership with Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T). This position recruits prospective students, guides them through the admissions process, provides individualized pathway planning and academic support, and builds relationships that promote student persistence and successful transfer to Missouri S&T.

    The Coordinator combines the relationship-building and territory management responsibilities of an admissions counselor with the advising, coaching, and student success functions of a transfer coordinator. The position serves as the primary point of contact for students and families from initial inquiry through transition to Missouri S&T.

    The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, results-oriented, energetic professional who can succeed working independently. They will be a member of the University's admissions and new student programs team - a team that is student-focused and committed to offering personal support for every student to persist in college and complete their degree.

    This role is integral to the University's enrollment management efforts and responsible for developing new student enrollment to meet institutional goals.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Recruitment and Enrollment Management

    • Recruit prospective students interested in engineering pathway opportunities
    • Manage assigned recruitment territories and recruitment initiatives
    • Conduct individual outreach through phone, email, text messaging, video conferencing, and in-person meetings
    • Build relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, STEM educators, and community partners
    • Represent the University at college fairs, recruitment events, high school visits, and engineering-focused programs
    • Coordinate and participate in on-campus recruitment and yield events

    Student Advising and Success Coaching

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for students enrolled in the engineering pathway program
    • Assist students in understanding pathway requirements, academic expectations, and transfer milestones
    • Provide developmental advising and success coaching focused on persistence, engagement, and academic achievement
    • Monitor student progress and proactively intervene when challenges arise
    • Connect students with academic support, financial aid, career development, tutoring, and other campus resources
    • Support students and families throughout the transition to Missouri S&T

    Partnership Coordination

    • Collaborate with SEMO faculty, advisors, admissions staff, and student support teams
    • Maintain strong working relationships with Missouri S&T admissions, advising, and engineering representatives
    • Coordinate communication and information sharing between partner institutions
    • Assist with pathway events, campus visits, orientation activities, and student engagement initiatives

    Data Management and Reporting

    • Maintain accurate student records in CRM, student information, retention, and advising systems
    • Track recruitment activities, enrollment outcomes, retention metrics, and transfer success indicators
    • Analyze data and provide recommendations to improve recruitment, enrollment, retention, and student success outcomes

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree
    • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, admissions, advising, student services, sales, customer service, or related fields
    • Proficient in the use of technology tools used to manage information, including the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
    • Ability to build relationships with students, families, faculty, counselors, and external partners
    • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service
    • Excels working independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and exercise sound judgment
    • Ability to travel extensively, with or without accommodation, and work alternate schedules, including evenings and weekends
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of publications and display materials, with or without accommodation
    • Possess and maintain a valid state drivers license
