    Position Summary

    Seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a growing pipeline and facility engineering team. This role blends technical leadership, project oversight, personnel management, and staff development, supporting a wide range of projects from pipeline alignments to complex facility design.

    The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to mentor engineers while maintaining high-quality deliverables and client relationships.

    What You Will Do

    • Lead engineering efforts across pipeline and natural gas facility projects
    • Provide oversight and direction to a team of engineers, project managers, and designers
    • Serve as a technical authority for both civil (pipeline) and mechanical (facility) design work
    • Collaborate with clients, contractors, internal SMEs, and project teams to deliver practical, high-quality solutions
    • Drive continuous improvement in engineering standards, processes, and deliverables

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and mentor engineering staff, including workload balancing and professional development
    • Oversee design and execution of pipeline projects (alignments, bore profiles, site development, utility permitting)
    • Oversee facility design projects (meter/regulator stations, compressor stations, P&IDs, equipment selection)
    • Review and approve engineering deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance
    • Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards, including Title 49 CFR Part 192
    • Support project management activities, including scope development, bid events, scheduling, budgeting, and cost estimating
    • Maintain and develop client relationships, including participation in meetings and technical discussions
    • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including operations and field personnel, construction inspectors, subconsultants, and project managers
    • Support proposal development and contribute to business growth initiatives
    • Conduct occasional field visits to support project execution and quality assurance

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
    • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
    • 10 years of experience in utility and/or facility engineering, or adjacent industries
    • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D and/or Plant 3D preferred)
    • Extensive experience developing detailed engineering drawings, plans, notes, and details
    • Experience managing larger, multi-disciplinary projects
    • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and managing technical deliverables
    • Familiarity with advanced utility permitting
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Experience with cost estimating, project scheduling, and project lifecycle execution
    • Strong understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (preference of knowledge in 49 CFR Part 192)
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and standardization efforts

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in both natural gas pipeline and facility engineering environments
    • Background in consulting or working with multiple projects, stakeholders, and project types
    • Experience with hydraulic modeling software
    • Familiarity with GIS platforms and data integration
    • Familiarity with environmental and regulatory permitting processes
