Our team is searching for an experienced, hands-on Engineering Manager to support the daily operations of our Engineering department at 1 Hotel South Beach, a luxury property featuring 425 guest rooms and residences.
Working closely with our Director and Assistant Directors of Engineering, this role will focus primarily on overseeing evening operations, supervising assigned team members, coordinating maintenance requests, and ensuring our property continues to operate at the highest standards of safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction.
We're seeking a strong communicator, a supportive leader, and a natural problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate enjoys being actively involved in daily operations, coaching team members, and ensuring maintenance needs are addressed efficiently and effectively.
About you...
Bachelor's degree or related technical school degree with a minimum of 2 years of Engineering experience at the management level.
Previous hospitality engineering experience strongly preferred, ideally within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
Experience supervising engineering or maintenance team members and coordinating daily operational priorities.
Strong working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, work order management, and general building systems.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they relate to hotel operations and chemical storage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and hands-on leadership approach.
Comfortable working within an established departmental leadership structure.
Flexible and willing to work a schedule primarily supporting evening operations, including weekends and holidays as needed.
