Engineering Manager

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Lafayette, LA area. Our client is seeking an Engineering / Design leader to manage the engineering and design team.

Position Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop engineers and designers

- Oversee design quality, standards, and code compliance

- Plan engineering workload and schedules

- Partner with estimating, project management, and production

- Manage engineering budgets and resources

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Review and approve designs, calculations, and drawings

- Resolve complex technical issues

- Develop design standards and tools

- Support sales and estimating on technical questions

- Recruit and mentor engineering staff

Position Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering

- 7+ years of structural or metal building design experience

- PE license strongly preferred

- Prior engineering leadership experience

- Strong knowledge of AISC and related codes
