Engineering Manager

Grand Rapids Metropolitan Area

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead new product development, engineering operations, and product launches within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This individual will oversee engineering teams, drive product development initiatives, and ensure successful transitions from concept and design through production launch and full-scale manufacturing.

A hands-on engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment and has successfully managed new product launches from development through production. This individual should be comfortable leading engineering teams, working directly on the manufacturing floor, resolving technical challenges, and driving operational improvements while ensuring products launch on time, within budget, and to quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for new product development, manufacturing engineering, and product launches.
Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, from initial concept and design through validation, launch, and production ramp-up.
Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams to ensure successful product introductions.
Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversee tooling, equipment, automation, and manufacturing process development to support high-volume production.
Lead engineering problem-solving efforts, root cause analysis, and corrective actions during product launches.
Establish engineering KPIs and monitor project performance, manufacturing efficiency, and launch readiness.
Identify opportunities to improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and increase production capacity.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management for engineering personnel.
