We are looking for a focused Software Engineering Manager to lead the Product Ledger team. This team builds the double-entry ledger service powering accounting and financial state across Ripple Products. You'll partner closely with Accounting, Product, and Compliance to build a correctness-critical system that scales across new business lines while remaining audit-ready and Oracle-integrated. Think strategically while balancing both short and long-term needs - You will build and lead hard-working engineering teams by motivating your team and leading by example to continuously innovate, improve and think differently - You will deliver outstanding results for our customers and are a role model for other engineers - Create a shared vision and build and maintain strong partnerships with Product Management, Ops, Security, Research, Customer Success, and Business development teams - Responsible for the entire software development process for your team’s work - 5 years leading impactful engineering teams, having led teams of 8 - Hands-on experience in Java (Spring) and comfort reviewing/contributing to backend service code - Direct experience building or operating a double-entry ledger or core accounting/financial system — journals, debits/credits, chart of accounts, balance derivation, reversals - Experience partnering closely with team members — revenue recognition, intercompany accounting, GL mapping, reconciliation, and ERP integration (e.g., Oracle) - Strong grasp of databases at scale and familiarity with NoSQL data modeling (e.g., Comfort operating in a regulated, audit-sensitive environment — immutable/append-only records, traceability requirements, safeguarding or similar compliance obligations - Bonus: familiarity with crypto custody and multi-network asset movement (wallets, blockchain networks, exchanges) given the ledger's (asset, network) balancing model - This includes onboarding additional service areas onto a shared platform rather than focusing on a single product surface. - This range does not include equity or additional compensation, such as bonuses or commissions.
