Engineering Manager

The Mission

AtScale is the semantic layer for modern data and AI. We bridge the gap between complex cloud data platforms-like Snowflake, Databricks, and Google BigQuery-and the business users who need consistent, AI-ready analytics. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to help us redefine how the world handles business intelligence.

The Impact You'll Make

In this role, you will:

• Manage and empower high-visibility, globally distributed engineering teams across North America, Latin America, and Europe.
• Bring structure, organization, and agile processes to project execution, stepping in as the operational driving force for requirement definition, effort estimation, and progress tracking.
• Contribute to architecture, code reviews, and quality standards (CI/CD, automated testing) with a practical, delivery-first mindset.
• Collaborate directly with Product and architectural leads to coordinate cross-team dependencies and unblock team members.
• Drive the adoption and standardization of AI tools across the entire software development lifecycle.

Who You Are

• Proven Leader: You have 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years successfully managing globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Pragmatic & Technical: Strong background with Scala or Java, REST APIs, and deep SQL/relational database expertise. You value a full-stack, product-shipping mindset over pure theoretical architecture.
• Structured & Clear Communicator: Highly organized with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of bringing structure to complex problem-solving.
• Quality Champion: Experience setting up best practices for agile execution, code reviews, API testing frameworks, and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
• Time Zone Alignment: Located in or comfortable working with core Eastern Time overlap hours (10 AM - 5 PM ET; EST/CST preferred).
• Bonus Qualifications: Prior experience in platform/infrastructure engineering, containerization (Kubernetes), customer-managed deployments, or business intelligence tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
