    Position Title:             Engineering Manager – Bear Archery Group
    Reporting to:              President – Bear Archery Group
    Location:                    On-Site
    Status:                        Exempt           

    Job Purpose: The Engineering Manager leads a multidisciplinary team of design engineers to turn high-impact creative concepts into production-ready, consumer-facing products. In this role, you will oversee the engineering lifecycle from initial prototyping through tooling, testing, and product launch. Operating in a fast-paced environment for development cycles and seasonal launch calendars, you will balance rigorous technical execution with speed-to-market, fostering cross-functional alignment across Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Selling.

    Essential Duties / Responsibilities
    • Lead, mentor, and resource an agile team of design engineers
    • Manages resources effectively – engineering staff and budget to achieve or exceed annual objectives
    • Establish clear project milestones, technical deliverables, and accountability frameworks to keep team performance aligned with product roadmap deadlines
    • Drive design, prototyping, testing, and release of innovative, high-performance physical consumer products
    • Provides technical advice, understands engineering principles
    • Manage engineering documentation including 3D CAD assemblies, Bills of Materials (BOM), and product specifications
    • Interface directly with internal manufacturing plants and external supply chain vendors to qualify production tooling, troubleshoot fabrication issues, and ensure smooth pilot production runs
    • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to develop rigorous testing protocols, life-cycle validation tests, and quality assurance control plans
    • Manages legal aspects of related intellectual property as relates to product line
    Qualifications & Requirements
    • BS in Mechanical Engineering
    • 5+ years of design experience
    • 3+ years management experience
    • Strong leadership skills and personal initiative; innovator
    • Strong work ethic
    • A change agent with strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Must have a strong technical / creative background in design and manufacturing
    • Well-developed skills in Solid Works or equivalent CAD software
    • Solid knowledge of and experience in bringing designs to production
    Physical Demands    
    • Sitting, talking and listening at least 2/3 of the time
    • Lifting up to 25 pounds
    • Stooping and kneeling
    • Fine motor coordination
