Overview
Our Client is seeking a Document Control Specialist to support engineering and facilities documentation management activities. This individual will serve as a technical document librarian and configuration management resource, ensuring accurate cataloging, indexing, storage, retrieval, release, and archival of engineering and facility documentation within an Electronic Data Management System (EDMS). The role supports engineering teams, project turnover activities, and drawing/document release procedures while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage engineering and facility documentation within EDMS, including indexing, cataloging, archival, retrieval, and configuration management activities.
• Support drawing integration, metadata transfer, CAD file indexing, and document release procedures.
• Coordinate project turnover documentation and ensure compliance with established turnover standards and processes.
• Release Engineering Communication Forms (ECFs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials, Bulletins, and Design Directives.
• Partner with engineers and project teams to guide documentation release procedures and project deliverables.
• Conduct documentation research and support domestic and international engineering projects.
• Maintain plotter operations and perform large-format printing and scanning functions.
• Develop and maintain AutoCAD libraries of purchased components.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years supporting engineering or architectural environments.
• Understanding of engineering and architectural drawing release procedures.
• Experience with document control, configuration management, and technical documentation processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience working with electronic files, shared directories, and technical document repositories.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and technical research skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

• EDMS, PDM, or similar engineering document management systems experience.
• Large-format plotter operation experience.
• Formal AutoCAD training.
• Formal SolidWorks training.
• Engineering-related education.
