Engineering Data Analytics Specialist

Overview / Summary

The Engineering Data Analytics Specialist supports engineering organizations by providing data analysis, reporting, dashboard development, and project tracking support. This role enables engineering teams to achieve cost-reduction objectives through actionable insights derived from engineering and cost-related data.

The position requires strong Power BI expertise, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to transform large datasets into executive-level reporting and business intelligence tools. The individual will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, product development, and program teams to monitor cost-saving initiatives, track implementation progress, and improve reporting efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze engineering and cost-related datasets.
  • Perform data mining and trend analysis.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards.
  • Create executive-level visualizations and reports.
  • Automate reporting processes.
  • Track cost-saving initiatives and project milestones.
  • Support engineering review meetings and status reporting.
  • Improve reporting methodologies and data visibility.
  • Develop standardized metrics and KPI reporting systems.
  • Maintain data integrity and validate data accuracy.
  • Support cross-functional teams and project activities.
  • Track workplans, milestones, action items, and project activities.
  • Develop data visualization and business intelligence solutions.
  • Provide quantitative analysis and business insights.
  • Support reporting automation and improve reporting efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or engineering analytics.
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or product development organizations.
  • Experience managing large datasets.
  • Experience creating executive-level reports and dashboards.
  • Experience developing reporting metrics and analytics tools.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams and project activities.
  • Required Power BI experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with data analysis, data mining, dashboard development, KPI reporting, trend analysis, data modeling, data cleansing, and data validation.
  • Experience with data visualization, quantitative analysis, reporting automation, and data integrity management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to track multiple projects and cost-saving initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Powertrain engineering support experience.
  • Experience supporting cost-reduction programs.
  • Experience with advanced Power BI development.
  • Experience with SQL, Power Query, and DAX.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Power Automate.
  • Experience supporting Technical Value Management initiatives.
  • Experience with workflow automation tools.
  • Experience utilizing AI-driven reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Experience with AI-based reporting tools or AI analytics platforms.
  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
