Class Summary

Job Description

This position is in the Stormwater Section in the Engineering & Construction Division and is responsible for project, technical, and construction management of various stormwater projects. The position requires a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience, of which three years in a supervisory capacity, in the planning, design, and construction of stormwater management facilities (culverts and pipe systems), watershed improvement projects (Best Management Practices including Low Impact Development and Green Infrastructure), stream restoration/rehabilitation projects. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field and registration as a Georgia Professional Engineer is required.

Essential Duties

  • Methods, practices, and procedures used in the planning, design, and construction of stormwater projects
  • Stormwater hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Construction cost estimating for stormwater projects
  • Reading and understanding engineering plans
  • Preparing and reviewing project designs
  • Experience with US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) regulatory programs related to stormwater
  • Project Management
  • Construction Management
  • Prioritizing and assigning work
  • Supervising and evaluating employees
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, management, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

  • This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval.

The grade for this position is 107.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering and
  • Six years of progressively responsible engineering experience, some of which should be in a supervisory capacity;

Licensing Requirements (positions in this class require):

  • Valid Drivers License from state of residency.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
