    Key Responsibilities

    Technical Leadership

    • Lead engineering activities for complex mechanical engineering projects supporting commercial nuclear power plants.
    • Independently develop engineering approaches and solutions for challenging technical issues and plant modification initiatives.
    • Perform and review advanced engineering calculations, analyses, evaluations, engineering change packages, and technical reports.
    • Review engineering products for technical adequacy, quality, and compliance with applicable requirements.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary project teams.
    • Serve as a technical specialist in assigned areas of expertise.
    • Support development of engineering standards, best practices, and technical processes.

    Plant Systems & Engineering Evaluations

    • Evaluate plant systems, equipment performance, and operational challenges.
    • Investigate equipment failures, reliability concerns, and emergent plant issues.
    • Develop recommendations that improve safety, reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.
    • Support engineering evaluations associated with long-term plant operation, asset management strategies, and modernization efforts.
    • Apply engineering principles, industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements to technical solutions.

    Project Leadership

    • Lead significant engineering assignments and portions of major projects.
    • Coordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams.
    • Direct technical aspects of assigned project work and engineering deliverables.
    • Plan and manage work assignments to support project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.
    • Support proposal development activities, including technical scope definition, engineering estimates, and project planning efforts.
    • Serve as a technical lead and resource to project stakeholders throughout project execution.

    Client Leadership

    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with utility clients and project stakeholders.
    • Participate in client meetings, technical reviews, engineering workshops, and project planning activities.
    • Present engineering recommendations, technical evaluations, and project results to clients and review boards.
    • Support the development of client-focused engineering solutions that address operational and business objectives.
    • Serve as a trusted technical resource during project execution and client interactions.

    Organizational Leadership

    • Mentor and support the development of junior and mid-level engineers.
    • Assist with employee development through technical coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
    • Support engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
    • Promote technical excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
    • Serve as a resource for technical problem-solving across project teams.

    Industry Engagement

    • Maintain awareness of industry developments, emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and engineering best practices.
    • Keep informed of new methods, technologies, codes, and standards affecting nuclear engineering and plant operations.
    • Contribute to the advancement of engineering excellence through professional development and knowledge sharing.
    • Participate in professional organizations, technical conferences, industry working groups, and standards activities as appropriate.

    Nuclear Quality & Compliance

    • Ensure engineering products comply with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, quality assurance requirements, and company procedures.
    • Participate in technical reviews and quality assurance activities.
    • Promote a culture of safety, quality, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

    Position Summary

    The Engineer V, Mechanical independently performs advanced engineering and design activities supporting commercial nuclear power plants and related facilities.

    This role serves as a senior technical resource for project teams and clients while providing technical leadership, mentoring, and oversight.
