Job Title: Engineering Technician I

Location: 4455 Atherton Drive Salt Lake City, UT 84123

Duration: 12 Months, Potential Extension/conversion

Shift & Schedule: Mon-Fri|8:00AM-5:00PM

Job Summary

This position is for an Engineering Technician I who performs basic mechanical, electrical, or metrological work to support the set-up and operation of the Salt Lake Service Center. This is an entry-level position focused on developing technical skills while assisting with routine tasks. The individual works under close supervision and guidance from Service Leads and Engineering Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, basic maintenance, and repair of service equipment in the Salt Lake Service Center.
  • Support tracking and organization of equipment identification (tools, fixtures, and custom equipment).
  • Assist with equipment set-up and support Service Engineering with validation activities as directed.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks and basic equipment checks under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Support Service Engineering or Supervisors with assigned project tasks.
  • Execute calibration and maintenance of test equipment following established procedures.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to support continuous improvement initiatives in Service operations.
  • Participate in special projects or activities assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or metrological concepts is preferred.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong willingness to learn and follow technical instructions.
  • Organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and documentation with guidance.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent 1-3 years of relevant experience in maintenance, service or repair equipment.
  • Previous experience with medical devices is helpful but not required.

Work Environment

  • Job duties are performed in a service repair hub environment.
  • Must have high level of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with electro-mechanical medical devices.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 25 pounds.
  • Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
