    • Work directly with BNSF mechanical teams, locomotive desk personnel, and field operations to identify and resolve locomotive reliability and performance issues in real time.
    • Coordinate closely with Progress Rail field service technicians, shop managers, reliability teams, and engineering groups to develop and attach corrective work scopes for locomotives requiring maintenance or troubleshooting support.
    • Provide remote troubleshooting assistance for mechanical and electrical locomotive systems utilizing onboard data, fault history, event logs, and fleet monitoring systems.
    • Monitor locomotive fleet health and proactively identify trends, repeat failures, and emerging reliability concerns that could impact operational performance.
    • Create, document, and communicate troubleshooting procedures and repair recommendations based on field observations, historical failures, and fleet data analysis.
    • Support locomotive recovery efforts in territories where field technical resources are limited or unavailable by coordinating repair direction and work scope execution remotely.
    • Participate in daily customer conference calls and operational review meetings to provide troubleshooting updates, fleet performance feedback, and ongoing reliability status.
    • Generate reports and metrics related to locomotive reliability, road failures, connectivity, repeat failures, and fleet performance using Power BI, Microsoft Excel, LTS, Uptime, IntelliTrain, and customer systems.
    • Assist in the investigation and documentation of warranty, product reliability, and performance-related issues.
    • Collaborate with internal engineering, reliability, supply chain, and maintenance teams to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication, technical support, and responsive issue resolution.
    Qualifications and Experience
    • Experience with EMD locomotive systems and locomotive troubleshooting preferred.
    • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and locomotive fault data.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Power BI, and database reporting tools.
    • Experience utilizing locomotive monitoring and diagnostic systems such as LTS, Uptime, IntelliTrain, or similar platforms preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical issues in a fast-paced operational environment.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, field personnel, and leadership teams.
    • Knowledge of locomotive shop practices, maintenance processes, and railroad operations preferred.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments including engineering, reliability, field service, and customer operations.
    • Willingness to travel as required to support field investigations and operational needs.
    • SAP knowledge preferred.

    Ability to work as a part of a multi shift seven (7) day a week operation.
