    Duties of this position include:

    • Network Design: Designing gas distribution systems, pipelines, and related infrastructure to meet capacity and safety requirements
    • Capacity Assessment: Analyzing current and future gas demand to ensure that network can deliver gas without interruptions or bottlenecks.
    • Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all gas systems meet regulatory safety standards and coordinating with relevant authorities for compliance.
    • Optimization: Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of gas distribution networks
    • Environmental Impact: Assessing the environmental impact of gas systems and recommending measures to reduce carbon footprint.
    • Simulation and Modeling: Utilizing Synergi to predict the behavior of gas systems under different conditions
    • Risk Assessment: Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them, including emergency response plans.
    • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, design, sales, gas supply, and engineering to ensure the safe operations of gas systems.

    • Exceptional skills in Microsoft or applicable software, engineering formulas, databases, and related calculations.
    • Strong planning, writing, organizational, project and data management skills.
    • Skilled analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Effective team leader skills, including written/verbal communications, and interpersonal relationships.

    Minimum qualifications:

    • 0-3 years' experience in Gas Distribution, Operations, and/or Engineering.
    • Good working knowledge of all operations-related equipment.
    • Demonstrated skill in presenting information in a concise, economic-based manner.
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a field providing advanced analytical education required.
    • Valid driver's license and ability to drive PNG Company Vehicles.

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Perform sedentary work- exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
    • Working conditions may include travel to work sites of Essential Utilities/Peoples and/or other constituents (if applicable).
