Your Responsibilities:
Description:
Provides quality planning, control, and improvement support for product development teams, manufacturing engineering, supply management, and manufacturing and/or distribution organizations to assure product quality meets the customers' expectations. This includes the application of quality tools within the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP), and Customer Support Process (CSP). Also supports application of quality tools with key suppliers as an integral element of quality planning.
As an OFP QE located in East Moline, IL, you will:
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects impacting safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and ergonomic improvements for the department.
Establish process controls, tooling, assembly methods, OMS, and control plans for revisions to current operations.
Work with SAP, MPPlanner, and JDAAT to perform engineering functions.
Drive Closed Loop corrective Action for assembly/weld build issues.
What Skills Do You Need:
Experience in manufacturing assembly, weld processes, and working in a production environment.
Ability to read prints, CMM reports, and measurement data.
Demonstrated communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel.
Experience with shop floor documentation (Sequence of Events, PFMEA, and Operator Methods Sheets).
Ability to work off shifts and weekends.
Experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases.
What Makes You Stand Out:
Experience with MPPlanner for SOE and OMS development.
Experience with closed loop corrective action.
Experience with JDAAT coding and other MES systems (SAP, Ignition, etc).
Experience in a union environment.
Experience with torque tooling.
Experience with AutoCAD and Creo View software.
Education:
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline, data analytics, or related disciplines or equivalent work experience.
Major Duties:
Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.
Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
