Responsibilities
- Oversee all substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning.
- Collaborate with Early-Stage Project Managers to support engineering requirements and scope development.
- Provide training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Secure engineering consulting resources and manage the bidding and awarding process.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to secure substation sites and support necessary engineering updates and permits.
- Source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
- Represent E&C's interests in project meetings and provide updates on progress, issues, and risk mitigation.
- Support Transmission Services in reviewing interconnection documentation and ensuring compliance with ISO requirements.
- Manage project material orders to minimize delays and budget overruns.
- Collaborate with project engineering resources to determine priorities and work plans.
- Ensure projects are implemented efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely.
- Support project commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives.
- Collaborate with OEMs to enhance designs for better integration with NEER's philosophies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 7 years of experience in substation design and engineering of high voltage substation projects.
- Experience in Project Engineering and/or Project Management.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferences
- PMP and/or P.E. certification in a related discipline.
