Skill: Mainframe Developer
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:
- 5-7 years of experience in Mainframe application development and support.
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL LE, DB2, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and Online/Batch programming.
- Experience developing and supporting applications using MQ with CICS/COBOL and Batch/COBOL.
- Strong background in IBM MQ and IBM WBE.
- Strong experience with DB2 development, SQL programming, and database performance tuning.
- Experience with DB2 Stored Procedures is a plus.
- Strong skills in using File Manager and IBM Debug Tool.
- Knowledge of change management tools such as ENDEVOR is desirable.
- Knowledge of CICS analysis and performance tools such as TMON is desirable.
- Knowledge of DB2 performance monitoring tools such as BMC MainView is desirable.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in the Financial Services sector is desirable but not essential.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and MQ.
- Develop and support both online and batch processing applications.
- Implement application enhancements, fixes, and production changes following established development standards.
- Perform impact analysis, coding, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.
- Develop and support MQ-based integrations using CICS/COBOL and Batch/COBOL.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, DB2, MQ, and CICS-related issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for production incidents.
- Optimize application and database performance using available monitoring and performance analysis tools.
- Work closely with business analysts, developers, testers, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, release management, and production support activities.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with development standards and governance processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Salary Range - $80,000-$90,000 a year
