In this mid-level position, you will support and lead the design, permitting, and execution of land development and infrastructure projects, including site development, utility layout, grading, drainage, and roadway design. Impact Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering and design firm in Texas. In this mid-level position, you will support and lead the design, permitting, and execution of land development and infrastructure projects, including site development, utility layout, grading, drainage, and roadway design.
You will collaborate with project managers, architects, surveyors, municipalities, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate, technically sound engineering solutions. Essential Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects involving grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, and site development
• Prepare construction documents, plans, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with applicable standards and client requirements
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create alignments, surfaces, corridors, profiles, and other design components
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, surveyors, and additional stakeholders to maintain design accuracy and timely project delivery
• Prepare and submit permitting documentation
• Coordinate with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and other public entities
• Perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and technical analyses
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and recommend design improvements
• Conduct field investigations and attend project site visits
• Support projects from initial concept and design through permitting and construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Engineer in Training (EIT) license required
• Three to five years of civil engineering experience, preferably involving land development or infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong understanding of grading, stormwater management, drainage, utility layout, and general civil design principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365
• Familiarity with local permitting processes and agency requirements is preferred

Preferred Skills

• Experience coordinating with municipalities and public agencies
• Knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, erosion control, and drainage design
• Experience using GIS platforms and other civil engineering software
