    Reno, NV | Full-Time | Direct Hire | $60,000–$70,000 DOE

    You earned your Civil Engineering degree. You passed the FE Exam. Now it's time to put that education to work.

    We are seeking a motivated Civil/Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training to join an established engineering team in Reno, Nevada.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who wants hands-on exposure to geotechnical engineering, soils, construction, field investigations, materials testing, technical reporting, and active construction projects.

    You won't spend your entire career behind a desk. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and project managers while developing the technical and field experience needed to continue progressing toward Professional Engineer licensure.

    What You'll Do

    • Conduct field investigations, soil sampling, site evaluations, and in-situ testing
    • Assist with geotechnical investigations and construction observation
    • Observe earthwork, grading, foundations, soils, and site development activities
    • Collect, organize, review, and analyze geotechnical and geological information
    • Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses under appropriate supervision
    • Prepare field reports, technical memoranda, geotechnical reports, and project documentation
    • Monitor construction activities for compliance with project plans, specifications, and engineering recommendations
    • Coordinate field and laboratory testing of soils and construction materials
    • Maintain accurate field notes, testing records, photographs, and project documentation
    • Work with Professional Engineers, project managers, contractors, clients, and field personnel
    • Assist with project planning, proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates
    • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents
    • Follow applicable engineering standards, testing procedures, regulations, and safety requirements

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
    • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
    • EIT certification or eligibility to obtain applicable EIT registration
    • Strong interest in civil and/or geotechnical engineering
    • Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and soil mechanics
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Willingness to work in both field and office environments
    • Ability to travel to local project sites as required
    • Valid driver's license

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience is helpful, but we're also interested in strong recent graduates.

    Preferred experience may include:

    • Civil or geotechnical engineering internship or co-op experience
    • Construction or field engineering experience
    • Soil sampling or compaction testing
    • Construction observation or inspection
    • Construction materials testing
    • AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
    • Geotechnical engineering software
    • ASTM testing standards
    • Field or laboratory testing procedures
