Engineering Technician
An Engineering Technician is a professional with 0 - 3 years engineering experience.This position will be responsible to work with a team of engineers for the design andproduction of construction documents for building facilities of various uses andconstruction materials, including replacement or rehabilitation for structures. Thisposition will also conduct inspections of existing building facilities, including reportpreparation.
PRIMARY DUTIES:• Application of structural engineering and detailing techniques associated with thedevelopment of building design and rehabilitation plans.• Conducts analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assists inthe preparation of cost estimates and specifications.• Performs routine engineering assignments requiring application of standardtechniques and procedures.• Works independently on small assignments and assists Senior Engineers onprojects.• Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.• Additional duties include participating in building inspections as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:• Working understanding of AISC, IBC, ACI, and ASCE 7 design standards.• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT.• Proficiency in REVIT is a plus.• Knowledge of structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro and TeklaStructures.• Proficient in Microsoft Office.• Excellent written and oral communication skills.• Ability to multi-task, appropriately prioritize workflow and complete tasks onschedule and within budget.• Excellent time management skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a from an accredited four-year college or university
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED• Engineer-in-Training certificate or ability to obtain within 6-months
• Valid Driver's License
