Engineer II – Electrical Distribution Reliability
Location: San Clemente, CA 92672
Hybrid – onsite Monday–Thursday, remote Friday
Schedule: 7am - 4pm pst
2-year W-2 contract with potential to convert
Pay Rate: $50-54/hour DOE
A leading energy and utilities organization is seeking an Engineer II to support electrical distribution reliability initiatives. This role will evaluate system performance, identify reliability concerns, and develop engineering projects designed to improve electric distribution service.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate high SAIDI/CAIDI circuits and identify opportunities to improve distribution reliability.
- Perform engineering evaluations, calculations, and power system studies.
- Develop reliability improvement projects and provide technically sound recommendations.
- Prepare and present project proposals to engineering and reliability teams.
- Analyze electrical distribution system performance and evaluate potential solutions.
- Support project scoping, cost estimates, schedules, designs, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Communicate complex electrical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure engineering recommendations align with applicable standards, specifications, and requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required.
- 1.5+ years of progressively challenging engineering experience.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and power system studies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) completion required to hold the Engineer II title.
