What are your contributions to the team?
Be a member of the Flight Sciences team at Bombardier Flight Test Center specializing in Aircraft Performance
Perform analysis of ground and flight test data including desktop simulation
Provide timely analysis of predicted results, post flight data analysis, support snag resolution, generate problem reports, and perform data reviews
Develop new or unique flight test techniques, equipment, or processes
Provide technical support to Flight Operations by attending pre and post flight briefs, telemetry, Safety of Flight reviews and Test Hazard Assessments
Author/Review Request for Test, Test Definition Sheets, Restriction and Special Instructions, and Conformity reports to support the flight test schedule.
Create flight test reports demonstrating compliance as required by TC/FAA/EASA certification regulations
Create development engineering documentation for design changes, in a flight test environment
Provide technical support to BFTC Projects Test Readiness Reviews
How to thrive in this role?
You hold a bachelor's or masters degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering field
You have at least 2 years of experience in engineering within the aviation industry
You are familiar with concepts in aircraft flight dynamics, aircraft performance, and fluid dynamics
You have a basic knowledge of aircraft systems or principles
You have a basic knowledge of aircraft takeoff, landing, and mission performance
You have an awareness of FAA & EASA Part 25 certification requirements
You possess good programming skills in Python, VBA, MATLAB, C#, C++, or FORTRAN. Working knowledge of a Windows and UNIX operating system environment would be an asset
You possess good interpersonal skills to work well in a team environment
You can work independently and demonstrate initiatives to achieve the goals established
You possess good written and oral communication skills
Previous experience of supporting aircraft ground or flight testing is an asset
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
