Position Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer Electrical 3 to join the Electrical Engineering team supporting the development of next-generation software-defined radios and advanced communications systems. This is an on-site role at the Rancho Carmel campus in San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and test electrical components, systems, and networks.
• Design electrical equipment, products, and systems for commercial and industrial applications.
• Interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and block diagrams.
• Design, troubleshoot, and debug electrical circuits and products.
• Support development and integration of advanced communication hardware.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics, and block diagrams.
• Experience designing and debugging electrical circuits and/or products.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working independently on complex engineering projects.
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment:

o Oscilloscopes

o Spectrum analyzers

o Signal generators

o Power meters

• Experience with RF and digital hardware/software.
• Basic understanding of VHDL programming and concepts.
• Experience with hardware requirements derivation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Experience with one or more of the following tools is a plus:

o AWR Microwave Office

o LTSpice

o Xpedition

o Mentor Graphics

o LabVIEW

o DOORS
