    Location: Plant Vogtle , Waynesboro, GA.

    Contract- 1 Year

     

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineer 3 to support the design, construction, and operation of power-related systems, with a focus on nuclear facility standards and applications. This position plays a key role in ensuring engineering excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance while working collaboratively across departments and with external contractors. The ideal candidate will have experience in AP1000 plant design and prior exposure to PWR systems in procurement, maintenance, design, or systems engineering roles.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Apply engineering principles, design criteria, and tools to develop and execute power system designs

    • Support project cost estimates, prepare construction specifications, and evaluate design options

    • Provide quality assurance and technical oversight for contractors and internal engineering teams

    • Ensure a safety-first culture across all design and operational activities

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams involved in design, construction, and maintenance processes

    • Interpret and utilize Southern Company design standards and work practices

    • Assist with development and enforcement of design standards, system criteria, and best practices

    • Support field operations and maintenance teams with technical guidance and documentation

    • Estimate materials and transmit finalized construction packages and specifications

    • Navigate and utilize software applications such as Maximo, D2, and AP1000-related platforms

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (required)

    • 7–10 years of engineering experience in power generation, nuclear, or related industrial environments

    • Experience in a PWR environment as a Procurement, Maintenance, Design, or System Engineer (preferred)

    • Familiarity with plant licensing, design change processes, and operational procedures (a plus)

    • Experience with Maximo, D2, and AP1000 Plant design systems (required)
