    Engineer 3 

    Position Overview:
    The Engineer 3 position requires 7-10 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. This role involves applying engineering principles, design criteria, and software applications to develop and construct power-related systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Apply engineering processes and design principles in power system construction.
    • Support estimate preparation and develop viable design options.
    • Prepare construction specifications and oversee project execution.
    • Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance for approved contractors.
    • Ensure adherence to design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.
    • Promote a safe work environment by prioritizing safety in all activities.
    • Understand and implement planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance processes.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Utilize industry-standard software applications in design and engineering.
    • Adhere to Southern Company design standards and support criteria development.
    • Assist construction and maintenance teams with ongoing operations.
    • Estimate material requirements and prepare construction packages.

    Required Skills & Expertise:

    • Strong engineering knowledge and understanding of industry practices.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and independent decision-making abilities.
    • Proficiency in discipline-specific software applications.
    • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
