STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES develops and integrates products, engineering support, repair and maintenance services to provide value-added solutions to owners, engineers and contractors. We provide specialty contracting services through our contracting companies, and state-of-the-art proprietary products and engineering support services through our technologies company. With over 2,500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets, we serve the Commercial, Public, Transportation Industrial, and Power markets to tackle the toughest construction challenges. STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is the in-house engineering business line of Structural Group.

Skills

Takes initiative to pull the team together to accomplish the common goal of delivering the project the customer expects. Can present design issues to customer and supplier. Strong oral and written communication skills to resolve design issues persuasively with subordinates, subcontractors, and clients. Communicates in a clear, precise and respectful manner with team

Ability to use and manage Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Mathcad. Ability to independently develop models and perform analysis/design software such as ETABS, SAFE, and SAP2000. Knowledge of design and construction requirements for prestressed and post-tensioned concrete

Experience - Field - Required/Preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Knows how to coordinate work with other engineers on the team

Develops and presents industry technical papers

Familiar with business lines within company

Knows how to organize, plan, budget and schedule design and research activities

Knows how to perform wind and seismic analyses, and related structural design

Understands standard contract requirements and scope as they relate to work

Understands standard engineering work planning, scheduling and cost estimating

Basic understanding of PT systems

Basic understanding of repair and strengthening techniques

Understand the concepts of the shoring and the advanced load alteration design

Able to move about the office

Sitting for extended periods of time

Dexterity of hand and fingers to operate a computer, and other office equipment

Has visual acuity to see items clearly and sharply and to recognize small detail

Able to speak and hear detailed information through oral communication

Special Requirements

Ability to travel as needed to project sites

Flexibile with work hours

Possess valid driver's license in order to operate rental cars when traveling for company business

Willing to work at heights up to 650 feet off the ground
