Job Title: Engineer 2 - Fullstack
Location: Seattle, WA 98101 (Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
Duration: 05-month contract (with possible extension and Conversion Possibility: Yes) 
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, (40 hours/week) 8-5 standard hours
Start Date: Targeting Sep 2026
Pay Rate: $63.38/hr - $66.90/hr on W2

Job description:
Role Overview
  • We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing web applications. The ideal candidate has strong expertise across front-end and back-end technologies, enjoys end-to-end ownership, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This role will be approximately 60% Front End and 40% Backend.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Build scalable, reusable UI components using React.
  • Develop robust backend services and APIs using Java, Node.js, or similar technologies.
  • Design and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and UX Designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions and contribute to technical decisions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following best practices.
  • Review code, mentor junior engineers, and uphold engineering standards.
  • Support production releases, troubleshooting, and on-call rotations as needed.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • 5–8 years of experience in full-stack software development.
  • Strong experience with React, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS.
  • Backend experience with Java/Spring Boot or Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native application development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with TypeScript and Java.
  • Exposure to Next.js or modern frontend frameworks.
  • Experience with AWS, including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka, SNS/SQS.
  • Background in retail, POS, or enterprise systems.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to balance speed with quality.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Passion for learning and improving engineering practices.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Equipment: MacBook with POS software for the role.
 
Interview Process:
Technical round
Second round if needed; may be skipped if the technical round is strong.
