Education & Experience:
- 5-7 years of related experience and an accredited bachelors degree.
Job responsibilities:
- Applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.
- Supporting estimate preparation, developing design options, and preparing construction specifications.
- Providing guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages
- Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first
- Understanding the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance
- Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance
- Understanding design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design
- Understanding industry and Company design standards
- Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system
- Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations
- Estimating material for projects, transmitting construction packages, and supporting specifications.
Skillsets and expertise required for this position include:
- Good engineering knowledge
- Problem-solving skills
- Some discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor Discipline software knowledge
- Strong work ethic
- Positive attitude
- The ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors
