Description
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel) is required.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation and GIS programs is required.
- Understanding of plan and profile layouts, and cross-section sheet layouts is required.
- Familiarity with SOCO JETS and Teams software is preferred.
- Experience in DOT, city, and county permitting is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand legal documents relevant to utility permitting and relocation, such as easements, right-of-way agreements, and utility relocation agreements is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), specifically Part 6
- Temporary Traffic Control, is preferred.
- Ensure adherence to the ALDOT Utility Manual for permitting
- Ensure adherence to the ALDOT Permit Manual for permitting
- Assist with Oversized load route reviews for ALDOT permitting companies through APCO territory.
- Assist with Temporary Traffic Control plan reviews following Part 6 of the current Manual on Uniform
- Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
Education
- A 4-year degree in a related field (such as engineering) is preferred.
- Alternatively, 3 years’experience in transmission, distribution, or fiber design and/or field operations is preferred.
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels of APCO, ALDOT, and municipal personnel is required.
