Job Title: Engineer 1 (Distribution) –ENGD1
Location: Oneonta, AL 35121 (100% Onsite)
Duration: 07/06/2026 –07/06/2029
Pay Rate: $28.50/hr
Shift Timings: 1ST Shift


Job Description:
Distribution Engineer responsible for designing, planning, and supporting electrical distribution systems that deliver power to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Role includes system design, analysis, reliability improvement, outage response, and coordination with field and construction teams to ensure safe and reliable power delivery.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and optimize overhead and underground distribution systems
  • Perform load flow, fault, and voltage drop analysis
  • Support system planning, upgrades, and new customer connections
  • Ensure compliance with utility standards, safety codes, and regulations
  • Conduct asset condition assessments and recommend repairs/replacements
  • Support outage restoration and storm response activities
  • Coordinate with construction crews, vendors, and engineering teams
  • Maintain system documentation and asset records
  • Improve system reliability and power quality
 
Required Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems
  • Experience with power system studies (load flow, fault analysis)
  • AutoCAD knowledge preferred
  • GIS experience preferred
  • Understanding of utility safety standards and codes
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in field conditions and emergency situations
  • Good communication and coordination skills
 
Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree preferred (not mandatory)
