    Location: Jonesboro GA 30236
    Contract- 2 Years
    Client- Georgia Power

    Position Summary:
    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer I to support the design, construction, and maintenance of power-related systems. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in engineering design and construction projects, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external contractors to ensure efficient and safe project execution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Apply engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to support the design and construction of power systems

    • Assist in preparing estimates and construction specifications

    • Support the development and review of engineering design packages and ensure quality standards are met

    • Participate in contractor oversight, ensuring alignment with design standards and safety protocols

    • Understand and contribute to project planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance activities

    • Use relevant engineering software tools to produce design documents and analyze technical solutions

    • Interpret and apply Southern Company and industry-specific design standards

    • Estimate materials and support the preparation and transmission of complete construction packages

    • Serve as a technical resource for construction and maintenance teams on-site

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline)

    • 0–5 years of relevant engineering experience (internships, co-ops, or early career roles welcome)

    • Foundational knowledge of engineering principles and industry design practices

    • Ability to work collaboratively with design and field staff, plant operations, and vendors

    • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic engineering software tools

    • Ability to work under guidance, apply problem-solving techniques, and exercise limited independent judgment

    • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety-first practices

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Internship or experience in power generation, utilities, or infrastructure design

    • Familiarity with Southern Company systems, processes, and safety protocols

    • Interest in obtaining an EIT or PE license
