Position Summary:

The Engagement Specialist plays a key role in building relationships between 98.5 KTIS and its listeners through community outreach, events, promotions, and digital engagement. This position supports the mission of KTIS to lead people to Christ and nurture believers in their faith by creating memorable, impactful listener experiences on and off the air.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement & Events: Serve as a key representative of KTIS at events and community outreach efforts by coordinating on-site promotions, leading volunteer teams, and building relationships with local partners to strengthen listener engagement and brand presence.
  • Promotions & Listener Experience: Plan and execute multi-platform promotions, manage listener interactions and giveaways, and respond to community and ministry requests to support engagement and spiritual outreach.
  • Digital & Creative Support: Collaborate with Engagement and Digital teams to create and support promotional content across web, social media, and print, including graphics, videos, merchandise, and newsletters.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership: Support strategic engagement efforts by collaborating with leadership, overseeing student workers, maintaining organized promotional materials, and serving as a Christ-centered liaison between KTIS and the community.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in promotions, marketing, customer service, or a related field.
  • Proficient with digital tools (Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, etc.).

Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice To Have:

  • Experience in graphic design (Adobe Suite or Canva).
  • Familiarity with event planning or volunteer coordination.

  • Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
  • Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
