    Description

    Job Title: Engagement Specialist 
    Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (On-Site)

    Compensation: $50,000 to $55,000 Annual Salary 

    Location: Bronx (Hunts Point)  

    Purpose: America Works of New York, Inc. is seeking an Engagement Specialist for a workforce development program in the Bronx. The Engagement Specialist provides individualized career services to low-income and underserved job seekers seeking employment. The ideal candidate has case management experience, strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, and knowledge of workforce development and human services.   

    Duties and Responsibilities 

    Facilitate daily orientation and intake sessions with incoming clients referred by the Human Resources Administration (HRA)  

    Present on program requirements and expectations  

    Administer TABE testing  

    Ensure completion of timely case notes to record service delivery, including assessments, intakes, goals, referrals, etc.  

    Complete timekeeping responsibilities 

    Scan and upload client documentation 

    Participate in daily meetings/check-ins with program management team 

    Provide administrative support to other departments or members of management, including but not limited to data entry and case management tasks  

    Maintain detailed case notes, update attendance logs, submit weekly reports, and other administrative tasks on a timely basis 

    Model professionalism and inclusiveness, cultivate a safe environment for career development, and motivated clients to find full-time employment 

     

    Requirements 

    Minimum of 4-year degree required 

    Experience working with low-income and underserved populations, especially in a workforce development, social services, or community-based context 

    Experience facilitating trainings or workshops  

    Spanish speaking language skills a plus  

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 

    Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint preferred 

    Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills
