    Description

Help people build their careers, look after their wellbeing, and drive community - across AWS, one of the world"s most innovative businesses. This is a role for a senior people-leader who wants to own how we bring to life our Grow Thrive Connect strategy to life in AWS.

You"ll be the trusted partner to senior PXT leaders across North America, turning what the business cares about most into practical things that reach employees where they are. You"ll own the relationship, decide where to focus, leverage AXU"s existing portfolio and build from a blank sheet where nothing exists yet - then show the impact in measurable ways people can see and feel.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Serve as the senior point of contact for the AWS business and PXT leadership in-region; set and drive the NA engagement agenda and operating rhythm for AXU.
    • Lead senior stakeholder relationships. Build trusted relationships with AWS and PXT leaders across North America; navigate senior forums with sound judgement.
    • Translate priorities into plans. Converge AXU and AWS priorities into engagement plans with clear owners, milestones and measures.
    • Bring Grow, Thrive, Connect Together to life. Drive the execution of GTC Together initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes across Grow (career development and upskilling), Thrive (wellbeing, safety, and stability), and Connect (community and belonging); design scalable, self-serve programs and keep them accessible and localized by design, not by exception.
    • Measure impact. Analyze relevant Survey data, retention metrics, and employee feedback to measure impact and inform strategic recommendations; build reporting that tracks Grow, Thrive, and Connect outcomes and prepares updates for leadership.
    • Keep the global approach coherent. Partner with the EMEA Engagement Leader and other business line engagement leaders to drive a consistent engagement approach across regions.
    • Deliver in ambiguity. Stand up new engagement workstreams from a blank sheet, prioritise where the business need is greatest, and adjust as priorities are validated.

    A day in the life

No two days look the same. One morning you might review engagement and retention data to spot a trend across an AWS organisation, then join a working session with senior leaders to align on priorities. By midday you are vibe-coding an app and could be shaping a program that reaches employees across North America, or partnering with your EMEA counterpart to scale widely. Later you might turn results into a clear story for senior leaders - what"s working and where to invest next. You"ll move between strategy and hands-on delivery, building things that genuinely help people grow, thrive, and connect.

    About the team

"Together, we help people grow, thrive, and connect with Amazon." We unite Amazon"s global workforce around a shared commitment to Grow (career development and upskilling), Thrive (wellbeing, safety, and stability), and Connect (community and belonging).

This Engagement team brings our mission to life within the AWS business globally, starting with 2 crucial regions - North America and EMEA. We partner across the business to activate employees through the global Together Community, and we design our programs to be accessible and localized by design - because if a resource can"t be found, it can"t help anyone.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
