Join Tesla Energy's Product and Service Engineering team as a key technical contributor dedicated to maximizing the performance, reliability, and uptime of Tesla's stationary storage fleet. You'll take ownership of diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, firmware, and network issues across Tesla's global fleet of industrial battery energy storage systems and microgrids.
This is a hands-on, cross-functional role. You'll leverage fleet data and first-principles thinking to identify failure modes, develop solutions, and drive improvements across current and future products. You'll collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, field service, technical support, and SCADA/Netops teams to ensure Tesla Energy customers receive industry-leading service and system availability worldwide.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, firmware, SCADA, and communication network issues that cause downtime for Tesla's Industrial Storage and Microgrid customers
Utilize data analysis, fleet analytics, and first-principles engineering to identify failure modes, develop effective solutions, and apply them fleet-wide
Lead data-driven, cross-functional initiatives to implement fleet improvements in partnership with program management, design engineering, field service, and technical support teams
Support fleet sustainment efforts across all equipment comprising battery energy storage systems, including power conversion, controls, protection, and balance-of-plant equipment
Handle escalated global customer cases to minimize system downtime and enhance customer satisfaction; communicate root cause and resolution clearly to commercial and utility customers
Collaborate with field service and technical support teams to create documentation and training for commissioning, operating, repairing, and servicing Tesla's Industrial Storage products worldwide
Develop test plans and lead testing or investigation activities to diagnose issues at operating sites, with occasional lab work as needed
Degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a equivalent experience
2+ years of professional experience in one or more of the following: product engineering, systems engineering, reliability engineering, commissioning, maintenance, or performance testing of power generation or energy storage facilities
Proficiency with Python, SQL, or equivalent tools for data analysis on large datasets
Must have strong technical engineering skills across 2 of the technical areas listed in the 'Nice to Have' section below
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively across multiple teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documents and diagrams
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects in parallel; self-directed, highly detail-oriented, and organized
Willingness to travel domestically up to 5-10% of the time, occasionally on short notice
Role includes periodic on-call 24/7 support of external customers
