Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Contracts Analyst / Commercial Contracts Specialist to support a growing Renewable Energy team. This role works closely with Sales, Legal, and internal stakeholders to facilitate the buying and selling of gas and energy products through effective contract management and negotiation.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing commercial agreements within the energy, oil & gas, or related industries. This position requires a highly organized professional who can independently manage contract workflows while identifying and mitigating contractual risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, redline, negotiate, and execute commercial agreements, including NDAs, NAESB agreements, Master Agreements, and related contracts.
- Collaborate directly with counterparties and internal Legal teams on both company-standard and third-party contract templates.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate legal and commercial risks throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Manage contracting activities for designated business workstreams with minimal supervision.
- Analyze contract-related data and coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate timely contract execution.
- Establish and prioritize supplier contract activities based on business requirements and stakeholder feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company contracting policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, Legal, internal departments, and external counterparties.
- Develop and negotiate commercial terms that support business objectives while minimizing risk exposure.
- Provide regular status updates and reporting to stakeholders and management regarding contract progress.
- Assist in developing standardized contracting processes, templates, and documentation.
- Maintain detailed contract records and track active agreements to ensure timely delivery and execution.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience negotiating and executing commercial contracts in support of business development, energy, oil & gas, commodities, or similar industries.
- Proven experience reviewing and negotiating legal and commercial contract terms with external counterparties.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred:
- Experience with renewable energy, natural gas, commodities, or energy trading environments.
- Familiarity with NAESB agreements and other energy-industry contract frameworks.
- Experience working closely with Legal, Procurement, Sales, and Business Development teams.
