POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of School Facilities, the Energy and Environmental Specialist leads the development and implementation of Calvert County Public Schools' Resource Management and Energy Conservation Plan, advancing districtwide efforts in energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmental sustainability. This role collaborates across Facilities, Planning and Construction, and school-based teams to integrate sustainable practices into operations and capital projects, ensuring alignment with Maryland High Performance Green Building requirements and applicable state and federal regulations.
The Specialist drives data-informed decision-making by monitoring energy usage, managing utility expenditures, and identifying cost-saving strategies, grants, and incentive opportunities. The position also supports Green School certification efforts, supports staff training, and maintains sustainability reporting and communications. This role ensures CCPS remains compliant, efficient, and forward-focused in meeting its sustainability goals.
