    Description

    A hospital in Fort Myers is seeking an Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join its procedural care team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, highly coordinated environment focused on diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

    Position Overview

    The Endoscopy RN provides direct nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures from admission through recovery. This includes supporting patient preparation, assisting during procedures, and monitoring patients as they recover post-procedure. The role requires strong communication skills and close collaboration with physicians and procedural staff to maintain safe and efficient patient flow.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Complete pre-procedure patient assessments and verify readiness for endoscopy procedures
    • Provide intra-procedure nursing support in collaboration with physicians and procedural teams
    • Monitor patients during and after procedures to ensure safe recovery
    • Administer medications and support sedation monitoring as ordered
    • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, preparation, and post-care instructions
    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
    • Support efficient patient throughput within the endoscopy suite
    • Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality procedural care

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 1 year of recent endoscopy experience required
    • Experience must be within the last 2 years
    • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in a procedural nursing environment
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based clinical setting
